HISTORY
Hickey Peña Architects, LLC had it's beginnings in the late 1970's via it's predecessor firm, Turner Hickey & Associates, and had operations in both Corpus Christi and Laredo. In the late 1980's John F. Hickey became the sole proprietor of the Laredo firm. The firm headed many of Laredo's most significant projects such as the planning of Government plaza in downtown Laredo, master planning Texas A&M international University, and the design of the Columbia International Bridge Toll Facility.
In 2008 Mario A. Peña became managing partner of Hickey Peña Architects along with John F. Hickey .
Since it's transition, the firm continued to grow and contribute to the region's architecture, leading projects such as the Laredo Federal Inspection Station, the architectural planning of North Central Park, and arguably the city's most recognized structure, the Cathedral of San Agustin.
